Gone too soon...

Maureen and BerylMaureen Cox

The one who put the 'M' in Emjay School of Dance. One of the founders of this dance school, who sadly left us in 2008 along with her mum Beryl in a tragic accident. An inspiration to hundreds of children, she gave you a sense of belonging and made you feel that nothing was impossible. If you wanted it - you worked your heart out and you'd get it. Many former pupils who are now adults payed tribute to Maureen on the Southampton Echo's Website, including Suzie Sheard:

"Maureen was the most amazing woman. If it were not for her I would not be a professional. She was a brilliant teacher and there was no snobbery. She encouraged everybody and everyone."

Hannah

Hannah Foster

In March 2003 Hannah was tragically taken from us when she was only 17. Hannah was a very loving, inteligent and gifted young girl who was very talented at classical dance - especially Greek dance. If losing Maureen was like losing a favourite Aunt, losing Hannah was (to many) like losing a beloved sister. Our thoughts will always be with Hilary, Trevor and Sarah.

A wonderful charity has been set up in India by the man who helped the police arrest Hannah's murderer. Click here to read more about The Hannah Memorial Academy
